Infinity Breyers on her youtube posted a "Tack maker tag" and I immediately knew I had to do it! Q: How long have you been making tack? A: I first started collecting in 2016 and made my horses bridles out of rubber bands. I really didn't discover the community of model horses and tack makers until quarantine of 2 0 2 0. Q: What inspired you to make tack? A: my rubber band bridles were made because I could simply not afford the breyer tack. I started making tack in early 2020 out of boredom and a spur of the moment decision! Q: What scale do you mainly make tack for? A: Mostly traditionals, but I do have a neat schleich scale tack set in progress! Q: When/ How often do you make tack? A: Mostly about 1-3 days a week :) Q:Favorite/ least favorite piece of tack to make? A: I love making halters and blankies! My least favorite would probably be leather bridles with dee rings instead of standard buckles. Q: Favorite/Least favorite mold to make tack for? A: I Love making tack for most any mold that either A) has a bridle path, or B) has no flowing mane. Overall though I would have to say Valentine/Giselle for my favorite, and Croi for my least. She has a flowing mane AND no bridle path. *Dun DUn DUN* Q:First creation/most recent? A: My first was technically rubber band bridles, but my first bridle from leather was this ugly thing. note how it has an EXTREMELY low noseband, skinny braided ugly reins, nothing but the throatlatch is unadjustable, and it isn't even made properly! Now my most recent work is this beauty An adjustable bareback set! still has room for improvement but looks better! (somewhere I have a hackamore to go with it but now I can't find it!) also please excuse my terrible basement lighting and weird streaks. I promise she doesn't have those in real life.
Q:All time favorite tack piece you've made? A: definitely this bareback set! Q: One piece of tack you would like to learn how to make? A: Saddles! I have made some, but they are super ugly... I need to probably buy some nice trees instead of making terrible ones DIY style. Q:Do you have a tack shop? A: technically not yet, but I am in the process of making some items for an Etsy store! I mean I do have a blog/website... (obviously) I just want to give a huge thank you to Infinity Breyers on IG and Youtube for making this epic tag! If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen me post about my new vintage Breyer donkey. I also saw some other horsey things :D I saw a vintage (what seemed to be saddleseat) saddle. The last time I have seen a saddleseat saddle was about 2 years ago at my old barn. The stirrups were bothering me so I ran them up! I also saw some horse signs! :D (and a bonus buckeyes one too!)
It felt amazing to be back at antiques village as in December, a car crashed into the front of the building. I got my five gaiter there, and his show name is now Burn 'em Up! There was also a booth entirely cowboy boots but I forgot to get a picture. I recently bought a Tandy leather super skiver and I absolutely love it! It is sooo much better than an exacto knife (mine is somewhat broken lol) and it saves a TON of time! (here is the link https://www.amazon.com/Tandy-Leather-Super-Skiver-3025-00/dp/B0036KZ9KC/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=tandy+leather+super+skiver&qid=1617918463&sr=8-1) It skives the leather SOOOOO easily and I definitely recomend buying one! This is all the excess I got in a single scrape!
Anyways I definitely recommend this and was definitely worth the wait (It was like 4 days but I am super impatient;) |
